CONVERSATIONS WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: PRATUL-DIPTI (BY SRI MANILAL CHAKRABORTY): TUESDAY, JULY 25, 1961: RAMCHANDRA'S KINGDOM; MONEY COLLECTION; CORIANDER SEEDS

In the morning Sri Sri Thakur sat in a tent near a Sajna tree in Thakur Bungalow. Sebama, after preparing tobacco, handed the pipe to Sri Sri Thakur. As Sri Sri Thakur was smoking Sailenda (Bhattacharya) came. Seeing Sailenda Sri Sri Thakur called out, “Hey, Sailen! What’s the news?”

Sailenda, “Everything is good. (After a while) Thakur, we hear about the kingdom of Lord Ramchandra. Do You think that the whole of India was Ram’s kingdom?”

Sri Sri Thakur, “My conception is like that. If that is not true why did the whole of India rise against Ravana? The whole of India and even perhaps Burma was included in Aryabarta. Of course I don’t know history.”

During the conversation Dr. Gokulda (Nandy) came in and stood before Sri Sri Thakur.

Sri Sri Thakur, “Hey, Gokul, why are you standing? Will you say something?”

Gokulda (with folded hands), “Thakur! The marriage of my daughter is settled. I need seven hundred rupees today.”

Sri Sri Thakur asked several persons to give twenty rupees each for this purpose. He also asked Sailenda (Bhattacharya), Balaida (Ghosh) and Sadhana Papader to collect some money soon. Within a short period of time Thakur collected the money and gave it to Gokulda.

One brother had come from Chandpara, West Bengal. He asked Thakur, “I have collected some coriander seeds. Now the market is down. What should I do now?”

Sri Sri Thakur, “How much will you lose?”

The brother, “Nearly four to five thousand rupees.”

Sri Sri Thakur (thinking a while), “Wait some time and see. Can’t coriander seed be preserved?”

The brother, “No, it will be worm-infested.”

Sri Sri Thakur, “Wait for some more days. If there is no rise in price then sell it.”

The brother, after taking permission, happily left for his home. (End of conversation)
