CONVERSATIONS WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: DEEPA-RAKSHI: MAY 5, 1953; PART 2; PURE LOVE AND OBSESSION; TENDENCY TO UNIFICATION
Harinandan Prasad, “A great devotee speaks of high philosophy. But there is less scientific reason in it.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Maybe he speaks of high philosophy. But his very action expresses philosophy and what he does is science.”
Dr. Banabehari Ghosh, “Sometimes it is seen that when one madly searches for the Beloved he even asks the tree about him. It is one type of insanity.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “But that is out and out correct. He thinks of the tree as a human being. He knows that the same life force is flowing in the body of a human being as well as of a tree. So love is love.”
Mr. Hauserman (H.), “Does love ever become cruel?”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Love can be cruel on itself. But it is ever kind to the Beloved. Where love blossoms, it must be active. But where it does not, it becomes idle.”
Mr. Sushil Bose, “In the Vaishnaba philosophy Purusha is one and everything is Prakriti.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “All living beings are Prakriti, that is the production of Prakriti.
Janardan (Mukherjee), “We go on tour to many places. If anybody loves me there...”
Sri Sri Thakur, “You can honor that love, but don’t hanker after it. And don’t be entangled with such love.
Janardan, “What should be my duty towards those who love me?”
Sri Sri Thakur, “You will also love. But don’t be obsessed by loving anybody. A person does not become obsessed where pure love prevails. By the blessings of Parampita, you become like that. Be the son of a charmer. I don’t know how I am. But I want to see you like that. However, don’t forsake the interest of your Ideal at any cost and be cordial.”
Chunilal Roychoudhury, “But seeing someone loving me, my mind may feel disturbed.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “If you love your Superior Beloved with every sincerity, there will be no disturbance. If you accept Him with your whole heart you will be His man and then there will be no distraction. The main thing is the tendency to unification.”
Devi Mukherjee, “How is that?’”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Without the tendency to unification you will have no knowledge. If you do not love a person you will have no intelligence about him. And intelligence means to choose between, that is to choose between good and bad for the interest of your Beloved.”
