CONVERSATIONS WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: DEEPA-RAKSHI: MAY 5, 1953; PART 1; BRAHMA ETC.
In the morning Sri Sri Thakur was seated on the bedstead inside a room of Boral-Bungalow. Mr. E. J. Spencer, Mr. R. A. Hauserman, Sri Janardan Mukherjee and many others came one by one.
Mr. Hauserman (H.) wanted to know the difference between Brahmaa, Brahma and Bramana.
Sri Sri Thakur, “Brahmaa is the creator, Brahma the stay of becoming and Brahmana is he who knows Brahma.
Mr. H., “There is a saying in the Bible, ‘By contact with salt you’ll become salt, by contact with light you’ll become light.’ What does it mean?”
Sri Sri Thakur, “ It carries the same idea as ‘Brahmavid Brahmaiba Bhavati’. (‘One who knows Brahma becomes Brahma.’)
Then looking at Dr. Banabehari Ghosh He said, “’My heart puffs up in a dance of cohesive urge.’ How to you like this idea? Try to compose brief love songs with this idea.”
Then He said to Mr. Spencer, “Can’t you compose brief love songs like the Vaishnavas?”
Mr. Spencer, “I shall try.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “As I say, ‘Oh sweetheart! Be aware. Love is the Supreme knowledge.’ You can use this expression in your composition.”
Mr. H., “ When love is fully ripened, intelligence becomes blunt.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “ How’s that? The more love is ripened, the more a person’s intelligence becomes set off to good advantage.
Mr. H., “Here in India Lord Gauranga came 400 years ago. Lord Ramakrishna came about a hundred years ago. But for a long time no such Personality came in Europe.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Where the deepest concentration of evil exists, there He descends. He has appeared in Europe also.” (To be continued)
