COW'S VS. BUFFALO'S MILK (END OF CONVERSATION)
Baladeb Babu, “It is very difficult to adjust the marriage system.
Sri Sri Thakur, “To have welfare in the society you have to face difficulties. You have knowledge of various subjects. There are so many regulations on marriage in our Sastras. If you can adjust it properly then everything is done.”
Baladeb Babu, “Three of my sons are already married. Marriage negotiation for the last son is going on.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Please adjust this marriage in the way I suggested. Three sons are already married. Let this one be the example of my teachings.”
Baladeb Babu, “How shall I detect the goodness of the bride?”
Sri Sri Thakur, “That you can know by observing the mother of the bride.”
Baladeb Babu, “Now two brides are being contacted, one in Kanpur, another of Jessore. I don’t know what bride should be preferable.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “The more compatible girl should be chosen, whether she is form Kanpur or from Jessore. You should observe the family. We should have maintained our genealogy but we did not. Everybody should preserve his genealogical register with full description.”
Baladeb Babu, “Brahmins used to do these works.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Yes, they have spoiled these things, meaning they have spoiled themselves.”
Baladeb Babu, “Previously Brahmins used to order the Kshatriyas, ‘Go, and capture the girls.’
Sri Sri Thakur, “If this is a fact, then they are not Brahmins at all. Those who do not understand their own interest are not better than eccentrics.”
Then the question was raised on milk as food.
Sri Sri Thakur, “If you take buffalo’s milk and cow’s milk mixed together, then both kinds of milk deteriorate. So you should not take milk this way. Cow’s milk is good for you. So you should take that. The characteristics of buffalo’s milk and cow’s milk may be similar, but they are not the same.”
Dr. Surya Kr. Bose, “Their physical and chemical characteristics are the same.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “No, not the same. Baladeb Babu, take it from my experience. Don’t take milk mixed in that way.
Baladeb Babu, “I won’t do it. But I want to know the science.”
This time Sri Bankim Roy brought out a book from Sri Sri Thakur’s cabinet and read out the different characteristics of cow’s milk and buffalo’s milk.
Baladeb Babu was astonished.
Sri Sri Thakur, “During milk injection, what kind of milk do you use, buffalo’s or cow’s?”
Dr. Banabihari Ghosh, “Cow’s milk.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Why not buffalo’s?”
Everybody burst out laughing.
Baladeb Babu (Looking at his watch), “Hallo, Hauserman! What is the time? Perhaps Thakur will go to bathe now.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Time passes so quickly.”
Baladeb Babu, “You should observe the routine first.”
After this Baladeb Babu took leave, saying that he would come in the evening for further discussionl
