CONVERSATIONS WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: PRATUL-DIPTI (BY SRI MANILAL CHAKRABORTY): MONDAY, JULY 24, 1961: PART 1; VITAL THROBBING OF THE HEART AND LIVING ETERNALLY
In the morning Sri Sri Thakur sat in the parlor. Several brothers were coming. Some stayed after ‘pranam’ and some left. The Moulavi Saheb (a Mohammedan) from East Pakistan, also sat in front of Sri Sri Thakur. After a while the Moulavi asked for a ‘danda’ (holy staff). Then Sri Sri Thakur, taking the ‘danda’, raised it to His forehead and blessed it with closed eyes. Then slowly He lowered the ‘danda’ and handed it to Moulavi Saheb. Accepting the ‘danda’ Moulavi Saheb also raised it to his forehead and bowed down to Sri Sri Thakur.

Sri Sri Thakur, “You mustn’t lose this ‘danda’. Don’t give it to anybody and use it properly.”

Moulavi Saheb (M. S.) was highly pleased and sat upon a chowkie. Rashbehari Adityada and others were also present there.

After a while Sri Sri Thakur said, “I think a human being can live eternally if the vital throbbing of the heart can be maintained properly.”

M. S., “’Allah’ says that there is one part of a human being that can never be destroyed. What is that?”

Sri Sri Thakur, “The vibration of the soul which maintains our existence is never destroyed.”

M. S., “Yes, that is true. There is a proverb that ‘Allah’ sends humans to ‘Sizgin’ and ‘Itlin’. But why does He send them there?”

Sri Sri Thakur, “What do you mean?”

M. S., “Those who commit sin go to ‘Sizgin’ and those who do good go to ‘Itlin’.

Sri Sri Thakur, “Those who commit sin make themselves such as to commit sin. You will go to ‘Sizgin’, if you be ‘Sizgin’ and you will go to ‘Itlin’ if you be ‘Itlin’.

 “What is meant by ‘Behest’?”

M. S., “Where the vital strength of life remains immortal and where it stays peacefully, that is called ‘Behest’.

Sri Sri Thakur, “’Behest’ means where one can stay unendingly and where there is no darkness.”

M. S., “That is correct.”

After some conversation Sri Sri Thakur went to His bath and then took His meal. (To be continued)
