CONVERSATIONS WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: PRATUL-DIPTI (BY SRI MANILAL CHAKRABORTY) SUNDAY, JULY 23, 1961: ACCIDENTS
In the morning Sri Sri Thakur sat under a Sajna tree. Reverend Ashokeda (Sri Sri Thakur’s grandson) bowed down and sat on a small wooden slab near Sri Sri Thakur. Several brothers and sisters were there too. And several others had gone to the Westend House to attend the conference.
Ashokeda raised the subject about accidents.
Sri Sri Thakur, “An accident means that the cause and effect are not known and that gap of not knowing is working itself out. I have no control over that and no thoroughness also. Where there is an accident it must be understood that ignorance is there too. If you have conscientious consciousness and consideration you can infer it. Then the unseen, i.e. that which is not seen and that which remains hidden from our inner vision, suddenly appears. In the course of testing two solutions in two test tubes a good thing may be invented. Carefulness, collection and consistency go simultaneously. Is it not a fact that photography also was accidentally invented and only afterwards were its cause and effect unfolded.”
