CONVERSATIONS WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: PRATUL-DIPTI; SATURDAY, JULY 22, 1961; SUCCESS; DEVIATION LEADS TO MISERY
Deoghar, Rohini Road. Situated on Rohini Road “Boral Bungalow” is one of the largest and oldest houses of the locality. On the 2nd of September, 1946 Sri Sri Thakur came to this house from His homeland in Pabna, East Bengal. This house (Boral Bungalow) is now called “Thakur Bungalow”. Presently several houses have been constructed inside the compound of Thakur-Bungalow. One of these houses is called the ‘Parlor’. This house with twelve roof sections is built with aluminum sheet, pitch board, wood and rock-wool-sheet according to the design suggested by Sri Sri Thakur. In this house Sri Sri Thakur sits, sleeps and discusses with all who come to Him.
On this July morning the 93rd All India Ritwik Conference is beginning. The Sacred ‘Punja’ holders of Sri Sri Thakur assemble here every three months in order to receive His blessings. They become enlivened and uplifted by His divinely-loving presence. Charged with the impulse of new activity they go out taking the responsibility for spreading His loving message into the community. This periodical meeting of the workers is called the Ritwik Conference.
People have been arriving at the conference for the last two days. Several others arrived this morning. Nearly everyone brought gifts of fresh fruit for oblations and, standing before Sri Sri Thakur, offered their gifts and bowed down. Sri Sri Thakur accepted each gift, and smiling with almost childlike beauty, expresses His loving affection for them. It appeared that being in the mere presence of Sri Sri Thakur brought peace and delight to everyone.
Many devotees have also come from Pakistan. Among them was a Mohammedan. Rev. Borda initiated him today.
After being initiated the Mohammedan bowed to Sri Sri Thakur and asked for His blessings.
Sri Sri Thakur, “May you be fulfilled by the grace of the Supreme Father and Prophet Hazarat Rasul.
Next Sri Sri Thakur, looking towards Jagat Chakrabortyda of Howrah, said, “Try your best to fulfil the quotas (150 Rs. per unit) for the cars. Have you taken a notebook? (A book for writing down the names of those who can each contribute 150 Rs.) Fulfil that. Don’t leave it aside.”
Jagatda, (with folded hands), “Yes, I will definitely do it.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “You mean to do it sincerely, but I tell you, don’t relax the least or you will fall back to that extent. One enthusiastic success leads to many successes.”
The face and eyes of Jagatda became bright with joy. Once again he knelt before Sri Sri Thakur. Then he went to the conference.
Sri Sri Thakur was talking with all while smoking the hubble-bubble. By this time a brother from Naihati of West Bengal came before Him and said, “Thakur! My Beloved! I have had a great loss. My son has died in a truck accident.”
Sri Sri Thakur (after being silent for a while), “If the parents are not alert then this tendency of carelessness is transmitted to their children also. From now on, take care. I feel deeply pained to hear your words. Never move in this way. Move correctly. You do not act properly and therefore you cannot give me good news and so I feel pain.”
The brother, “Thakur, I have only these two sons (pointing to them). I ask You for mercy.”
Sri Sri Thakur, “Take care of your boys. Make them men.”
After a while Sri Sri Thakur gave a message:
“As soon as there is deviation in our move
shocks rush in,
and misery approaches fast
with winking eyes.”
The brother read the message again and again. Danger always follows wrong action. Thinking this, he looked at Sri Sri Thakur with tearful eyes.
