CONVERSATIONS
WITH SRI SRI THAKUR: PRATUL-DIPTI (BY SRI MANILAL CHAKRABORTY): FRIDAY,
AUGUST 11, 1961: PART 1: CONSCIOUSNESS IN TREES
The weather was hot and humid with a cloudy sky. The day before there was rain. The trees were motionless as if nature was taking rest after the heavy rainfall.
Sri Sri Thakur sat on his bed in front of the parlor. Susilama (Halder) handed the end of the tobacco pipe to Him.
Sri Sri Thakur, smoking the pipe said, “My constipation is so painful that when nature calls I get pain in my head. After taking the medicine for the relief of cold I have got this symptom.
Susilda, “You will recover gradually.”
Debi Mukherjeeda read the newspaper as usual before Sri Sri Thakur. Bishu Mudherjeeda lit two incense sticks and placed them just on the edge of the bed. The room was filled with a mixture of fragrances from the sweet tobacco and the incense.
Gopal Biswasda, bringing two workers with him, said, “These two brothers have just received the ‘Panja’ of Saho-Prati-Ritwick (one who has the power of giving initiation).
Sri Sri Thakur (looking towards them), “Do your work well so that all the oblates may grow properly. You yourself are to proceed on an Ideal-centric way and make others go on the same path.”
Sri Sri Thakur (to a brother), “Have you read the book (The Classical Accounts Of India by R. C. Majumder)?”
The brother narrated many incidents from the book.
Sri Sri Thakur was enjoying the stories very much. Then with great regret He began, “All the books from our country have been taken abroad. They have been spread over Russian, Germany, France and other countries. I think the reason why Russia has progressed so much is because of the acquisition of vital information from those books. Russia has achieved the impossible. What they have accomplished is beyond one’s dreams.”
Chunilal Roychoudhuryda said to Sri Sri Thakur, “A letter has come from Shillong to You. A girl of Khasia Hill opened a nutshell. She was astonished to find the nut shaped like a face of a man. She has sent a photograph.”
Chunida showed it to Sri Sri Thakur.
Sri Sri Thakur, “The trees also possess feelings, a consciousness. They have an intelligence like people.” (To be continued)
